Description

Now that the weather has warmed up and the MHC Warming Center has closed for the season, the need to support our homeless neighbors remains critical. Inspired by compassion and led by a desire to help, Nancy has launched a summer project to ensure our vulnerable community members have access to nourishing meals and essential supplies.

Beginning Sunday, April 27, 2025, Nancy will be organizing and distributing meals every Sunday and Thursday to those experiencing homelessness in our area.

To make this project a success and provide meaningful support, we are seeking your generous contributions. We are in urgent need of the following items:

  • Baby Wipes - essential for hygiene and comfort
  • Non-Perishable and Perishable Snacks - granola bars, crackers, peanut butter, jelly, bread, nuts, fruit snacks, cookies, Slim Jims, vienna sausages, etc., for quick and easy sustenance.
  • Gatorade/Sports Drinks - to help with hydration, especially during the warmer months
  • Tents - providing shelter from the elements is crucial.

Please drop off any of the requested items with

Ariel Johnson at the VHRC office located at

1856 Virginia Avenue in Martinsville, VA.

Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in the lives of our neighbors in need. Let's come together as a community to support Nancy's compassionate initiative and ensure no one in our area goes hungry this summer.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
