Volunteers are asked to help on projects that God's Pit Crew desperately needs assistance with at their warehouse! Because of so many recent disasters, their volunteers are spread thin, so they are asking for your help.
Who is God's Pit Crew?
A local non-profit disaster relief organization that helps citizens all over the world recover from disasters or devastating events. To date, they have distributed more than 200 million pounds of relief supplies. They also have over 400 volunteers that travel around the country delivering loads of hope as well as help here in Danville.
How can you help?
Depending on your skills and interest, the MLK Day of Service will have multiple projects that you can choose to help with. A home located near the warehouse was damaged during Hurricane Micheal and needs "mudding out", new spaces in the warehouse need to be constructed, and many areas need to be cleaned and organized so a new blessing bucket assembly line can be constructed this year.
What should I wear?
The warehouse is not heated so dress warmly! Closed toed shoes are required at all times and boots are recommended. If you wish to help with the mud cleaning project, wear old clothes, but all gear will be provided.
