Who We Are

Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History Mission and Diversity Statement is to promote, encourage and develop interest in, knowledge of, appreciation for and practice of the arts; to collect, preserve, and display works of art, documents and artifacts relating to the history of the Danville, Virginia area; and to establish, promote and operate facilities and programs therefore.

What We Do

We educate and involve the community around art and history experiences through rotating gallery exhibitions, a Civil War exhibit, a Civil Rights Exhibition, Camilla Williams exhibition, as well as other local Dan River Region history.  We have an auditorium for lectures and shows, and a children’s “See & Do” room. Our programs include an annual storytelling festival, concerts, guided tours, Ghosts & Gravestones cemetery tour, along with other educational and cultural events.
