The Recovery Residences located on Starling are in desperate need of hedges trimmed and vines removed. It would be really nice to have pressure washing done on the brick siding of the homes and gutter cleanout. The women's home Serenity Cottage and men's home Passages are side by side on Starling Avenue. These homes service individuals with Substance Use Disorders who are turning their life around in receiving services from PCS as well as outside providers to become productive members of the community.

Beegins With You is participating in United Way's Day of Action and could use some help. Volunteers will be are asked to help transport items to be donated from Beegins With You to the Henry County Food Pantry. 

Volunteers are asked to meet at their main office (209 Starling Ave Martinsville, VA, 24112) to then organize, pack, load, and deliver pre-determined donations to the food pantry (3321 Fairystone Park Hwy) in Bassett, VA.

If volunteers are willing to utilize their vehicle (open-bed truck(s), or trailer preferred) to assist in the transportation and delivery of these goods, please notify Blake Shumate via phone or email. Alternative vehicles are welcome, but may increase the number of transport trips between locations.

Volunteers are asked to remain onsite at Henry County Food Pantry (3321 Fairystone Park Hwy) after delivering the goods to assist Food Pantry staff with organizing the donated goods.

Please note: these items will need to be moved up and down narrow stairs at the Starling Ave office space. This project will be labor intensive and not ideal for individuals with mobility concerns.

Volunteers are encouraged to wear closed-toed shoes, comfortable clothing.
